NotD - Linear Crossover

Sadly, my Easter manicure chipped last night, so I had to repaint. I chose one of the lovelies I got from Sara’s giveaway at Daily Polish as base and added some crossing lines.

This is what I used for this manicure:

  • OPI Nail Envy
  • Rimmel 60 Seconds 610 Pompous
  • LOOK by BIPA nail tattoo liner 3 black
  • LOOK by BIPA nail tattoo liner 25 neon pink
  • LOOK by BIPA nail tattoo liner 1 silver
  • Konad Princess Top Coat
  • Seche Vite

Let’s start with the swatches and review of Pompous: This colour is amazing and like so many sparkly purple polishes it looks too blue in the photos. Basically it’s a mid-purple base with multicoloured microglitter, mostly in blue (which can look green in certain lighting situations) and magenta-y pink. Pompous is mostly opaque in two coats, but even lovelier in three.
The application is good, free of streaks and smooth. I really like Rimmel’s current formulae.
This is Pompous in two coats, without top coat:

This is Pompous in three coats with Seche Vite:

After the base had dried I gathered three of my LOOK liners and some top coat and started lining:
First I added a diagonal line and a skinny french tip in black:

Then I followed these lines with pink ones (this colour looks so harsh in photos):

After adding another diagonal in silver I decided to paint on a crossing silver line:

Then a black line parallel to the new silver one:

And then I finished the manicure off with another silver french tip line to hide the ends of the diagonals and sealed it with a coat of Princess Top Coat and Seche Vite:

I love diagonals, I think I could wear them every day. ;-)
How about you?
