Swatches – China Glaze Poolside Collection – Part the First

I recently ordered China Glaze’s beyond gorgeous Poolside Collection. And once again I was amazed at the neon gorgeousness I saw. Because these posts will have quite a few images (18 all in all) I’ll post two colours per day for three days. Please remember that most cameras attempt to self-destruct when faced with neon nail polish, please. Enjoy!

China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

A true neon yellow polish that, like most polishes from this collection, hovers between a creme and a jelly finish. Yellow Polka Dot Bikini is very sheer, but as it would normally be applied over a white base that is not a problem. The real issue with all Poolside polishes is streakiness, the first coat is always very streaky. If you apply relatively thick coats, the second one should be free of streaks, but I recommend three coats for an even result. The brush is a plain round one, but it works well. Nevertheless I believe that a softer flat brush might reduce the streakiness.

This is Yellow Polka Dot Bikini in two coats without top coat over a white base:

China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy

Flip Flop Fantasy is a neon coral pink. The amounts of pink and orange vary greatly depending on the light source. This polish has a very similar finish to Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, so I won’t repeat the whole review (I’ll do that in my next post, anyway :-P )The only real difference in application is that I had more streaks with Flip Flop Fantasy.

Stay tuned for more camera-bursting neon goodness tomorrow!
